LionThere are nine big cats, the Tiger, Lion, Jaguar, Leopard, Cheetah, Puma, Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard and the Onza. The first four felines in the list above are bigger than last five. Big cats are carnivores, which simply means they eat meat. Big cats are threatened by habitat destruction and illegal hunting, and are even hunted and shot for sport by trophy hunters. Big cats are also threatened by illegal exotic 'pet' trade. Even today, an estimated 15,000 big cats are kept in domestic  captivity in the USA alone.
